Submission Guidelines.

Noble House Press is a small house, open to proposals from authors working in literary historical fiction, in English or in Spanish.

How it works

Send us a proposalUse the proposal form. It asks for your name and bio, the premise of your book, how the idea came to you and your research. Please do not attach the manuscript yet.
We read itYou will get an automatic confirmation with a reference number straight away. We read every proposal and aim to answer within 8–12 weeks.
If we are interested, we write to youWe will email you to ask for the full package (see below). Only then do you send the material, by replying to our email.
DecisionWe read the package and tell you whether we would like to publish the book, and how we would go about it.

What we’re looking for

We publish literary historical fiction — novels and story collections where real research shapes real narrative tension, not just the backdrop. We are especially drawn to work that treats the historical record as unfinished business: stories where the line between what happened and what is invented is handled with care, and disclosed to the reader.

What we do not publish

We are not the right home for:

Non-fiction, poetry, children’s books and academic texts.
Fiction without a historical basis (pure fantasy, romance or thriller with no research behind it).
Fan fiction and work written mainly with generative AI.

We publish only a few titles a year, so a good book can still be a pass for reasons of fit or capacity.

The full package, if we ask for it

When we ask for it, please send, by replying to our email, as PDF or DOCX files:

A cover letter (one page) with the title, genre, word count and why you chose us.
Your author bio (up to 150 words).
A blurb as it would appear on the back cover (up to 150 words).
A synopsis of the whole plot, including the ending (one to two pages).
The first three chapters, or an equivalent sample of up to 5,000 words.
A short note on your sources and on what is invented.

Format the sample as a standard manuscript: 12-point serif font (Times New Roman or Garamond), double line spacing, 2.5 cm margins, numbered pages, and the title and your name in the header. We will tell you if we need the complete manuscript later.

Good to know

We can only reply personally to proposals we would like to see more of: if you have not heard from us after 12 weeks, please consider it a pass. Simultaneous submissions to other publishers are fine — just let us know if you accept an offer elsewhere. Please do not send manuscripts or attachments with your first message; we will not be able to consider them.
